About these gaming patterns
Pixel art is already a grid of squares, which makes it the native language of this craft — a retro game sprite and a cross stitch chart are the same object drawn twice. These lean into that: chunky blocks, flat colour, hard edges, no blending.
Game over screens, save points, boss gates, health bars and legendary loot, with the lines anybody who grew up on them will recognise. They are tropes rather than any particular game, so they are ours to sell and yours to stitch.
