About these frogs patterns

Frogs have quietly become one of the most requested subjects in modern cross stitch, somewhere between cottagecore and the internet. These are the ones with something to say: a frog in a crown refusing outright, a toad wide awake at three in the morning, a snake in a mug announcing the time.

Small, quick and cheap — most are around a hundred stitches square, which is a couple of evenings. Instant PDF download with a symbol chart and a real DMC floss list.

They suit a small hoop, and they make a good first counted cross stitch project because there is no backstitch and nothing fractional anywhere in them.

What you get

  • A counted cross stitch chart with a symbol in every square, so it prints on a black and white printer.
  • A floss key naming real DMC shade numbers, with how many skeins of each to buy.
  • Finished sizes worked out for 14, 16 and 18-count aida.
  • Whole cross stitch only — no backstitch, no fractional stitches, no french knots.
  • A PDF you download the moment you pay. Nothing is posted to you.
